Kissed by the Baddest Bidder – Ota Kisaki (Main Story, Epilogue)

Ota 1

And I think I’m a weirdo as well, for totally loving Ota.

Intro: Since KBTBB has come out, I have been impatiently waiting for Ota’s story. After they released Baba’s stories, I’d check the app every other day, willing for Ota to be released! And finally he was! Oh the joy! But what I encountered…Kishi describes it best:

Ota 7

My Thoughts: Ota almost has a split personality. He is called the “Angelic Artist”, and everyone thinks he is this sweet, nice individual, but as the MC soon finds out, he has a sharp tongue and really can’t stand most people. His façade he shows to everyone, and his true self he shows to the MC, are very different. He also has a split way of treating her. The MC reminds Ota of his old pet dog, Koro, for whatever reason, so he keeps her in the beginning as his new pet, treating her like a dog. In this way, Ota is very eccentric, which I guess goes a long with his artistic personality. Half the time he is teasing, mean, and treating the MC like his new toy, but then suddenly he is incredibly loving. It’s so sweet when he blow dries and brushes the MC’s hair every night! (But really he’s only doing this because he thinks it is the master’s job to take care of his pet.) When he is being sweet though, oh is it adorable. There were a lot of heart warming moments. And speaking of adorable…how cute is Ota when he blushes??

Ota 3

Overall: Basically, Ota is a weirdo, treating the MC like his pet, and he can really act like a five year old a lot of the time (he is the youngest of the guys). But I think it’s because he can be so strange, when he turns around and does something incredibly sweet, it warms my heart a little extra (staying up all night to make the MC a necklace out of the blue?? AWWW!). There isn’t any action like Soryu or Baba’s stories, but there is a LOT of drama. (I’m still mad at the character Rin!! I felt SO bad for Ota!!) It made his story really interesting and kept me on my toes.

Ota 6

So, I really loved Ota. I knew he was going to be strange and a tease, but I was not prepared for this incredible soft side of him that peeks through. Ota is probably one of my top three Voltage guys right now.

Our Two Bedroom Story – Kaoru Kirishima (Main Story, Epilogue, and Sequel)

Intro: Kaoru joined Shiki Publishing the same time you did, and immediately joined the Seasonelle team, so he’s well known around the office. But he’s very quiet, doesn’t seem interested in much besides work, and has a very frosty demeanor, so the MC hasn’t had much interaction with him. When she finds out he is going to be her step-brother, MC doesn’t seem thrilled – things are pretty awkward with Kaoru. Then they end up living together! Things continue to be awkward from there.

My Thoughts: The first thing I noticed about Kaoru is that he is really off in his own little world. While he has proven to be observant in other stories, in his own, he doesn’t seem interested in anything going on around him, other then work and his cat – including the MC. The others even comment that one of his strengths is that he works well alone. But Kaoru proves immediately to be very kind as well. He has no problem letting the MC live in his house so she has a place to live, and really lets her know that it is now her home also.

I also noticed that early on, the MC is very aware of him. She notices him around the office as a co-worker, but once they start living together she notices his good looks and personality as well. Is it just because he is in the same year as her, but moved up so fast? Is it because he is such an enigma? Either way, you can tell MC falls for Kaoru hard and fast. I feel for the poor girl. It’s got to be hard, because Kaoru is mostly expressionless and very guarded. You really start to notice how he opens up towards the end of the story. Thank goodness for MC!

A small plus for me with this story was Chiaki being in it more. I really like him, so it was fun to see another side of him in a different story. It was adorable that he was jealous of MC’s closeness with Kaoru…because he wants to be close to Kaoru! Hah!

Lastly, I just want to add that the Happy Ending for this story was one of the best I have read. It really made the whole story so worth it. Kaoru really poured his heart out to the MC. And he got a cushion for her to put out on the veranda so it’s now her spot too! Oh be still my heart. You’ll know how amazing and cute that gesture was if you read the story.

Overall: I liked Kaoru. I didn’t think I would (I played him last), because he is so quiet; I find quiet guys kind of boring if I can’t get them to say more then two words. But Kaoru somehow always managed to stay interesting, even if he wasn’t saying much. And it certainly didn’t hurt that out of all the guys, I found him the most attractive. Damn was he cute when he was blushing!

Our Two Bedroom Story – Shusei Hayakawa (Main Story, Epilogue, Sequel, and His POV)

I played all of Shusei’s routes right in a row, so these are my overall impressions of all 4 stories so far.

Intro: The MC has a pretty good impression of Shusei from a few interactions around the office, so when you find out he is your new step-brother, AND that you will be living with him, it’s not too awkward. When you ALSO find out that you have been transferred to Seasonelle and he is your new partner for your first article, it’s still not too difficult, because Shusei is just so easy going, and easy to get a long with. Unlike with Minato or Chiaki, there isn’t as much stress about the new situation. Shusei and the MC work well together, so the drama comes more from outside forces and events at work.

Shusei is the all around nice guy of the group. He’s quick to lend a hand, and be a buffer when Minato is being rude. He’s pretty useless around the house, so he’s very appreciative when MC comes in, handles cooking and helps out with chores.

My Thoughts: I don’t normally go for the nice guy, but Shusei won me over almost immediately. He was just SO nice and very genuine. He likes to tease the MC, but not meanly or too much like with Minato. His teasing is always cute and fun, while leaving her just a little flustered. I also was interested to try him, because I heard he was a secret fan of video games, and I thought that was fun. I was SO happy when the MC sat right down to play with him. Oh the feels when they’d sit and play games together! So cute, and it felt very normal and natural.

I did not really like that there was a sort of love triangle between Shusei-MC-Minato. I like Minato (when he isn’t being a jackass), and when brothers or close friends fall for the same girl, it makes me sad. But that’s just my personal opinion. Also, it really felt like MC and Shusei were a team until part way through the sequel. She was so upset about letting her mother know about their relationship, since they are stepsiblings, and the whole ensuing aftermath really hurt Shusei. I could have killed her! Grow a backbone woman; do you love this guy or not?

But despite my few issues, I enjoyed the story. I love Shusei and will be impatiently waiting for any more sequels. If you include his overall personality and story, he has been my favorite so far in My Two Bedroom Story (although I have yet to play Kaoru).

Overall: Unless you really hate nice guy types, I think anyone would like this story. Shusei is incredibly kind and sweet, but can be stubborn, and teases the MC, so he isn’t a boring, plain, type of nice guy. I’d love to sit down and play video games with him anytime! He’s just so cute! Look at this beautiful CG if you don’t believe me:

Shusei 7

As a side note, I’ve bought a few of the His POV stories, and I’m not a big fan. They feel choppy and confusing since they only tell parts of the story, but I like to know when it was that the guy fell for the MC, so I’ll probably keep buying them. For everyone else, I wouldn’t waste my time or money unless you really like a guy, and want a little time spent inside his head.
